History has it penned down in gold—thoroughbred horse racing in Australia first began in the 1810s—and the sport has been gaining more and more popularity ever since. Today, racing is one of Australia’s biggest industries with more racecourses here than anywhere in the world, especially when compared in terms of quality.
One thing that has remained just as popular as horse racing itself is betting on them, despite the numerous threats in the past from sports betting. However, betting today has changed from what it used to be a decade ago. It has nurtured into a more refined activity and has firms such as BlueBet, an Australian-based bookmaking organisation, making the sport more enjoyable than it already is. When talking of horse racing, one can’t ignore the potential Queensland has to offer, in terms of great racecourses, horse breeds and jockeys.
